Artistes should discuss issues among themselves, not focus on Social Media drama says Adenike Adegalo

Trust Africa News, By Ayomide Otitoju

Can you tell us a bit about your background and where you are from?

First of all, I am Adenike Adegalo from Ekiti State, Ise Ekiti to be precise. I did my primary and secondary school in Ekiti State. Then I furthered my education where I went to the College of education, Ikere, Ekiti State.

What is the name of the drama group you joined in Ekiti?

I joined the Ayomi drama group. One of my uncles was the one who took me there. He was the one that located the theater group, and the name of my leader in Ondo state then was Kamala at Adeyelu.

After you started your career what role did you play in the theater house?

I’m all good to any role that comes, if you give me any role, I can play it but most times, l play the role of house help, and in some movies, I do play the role of a mother, daughter, sister, I’m good in any role. There isn’t any role that will come my way that I can’t perform as I will interpret the role exceedingly well.

Can you play the role of a mother in movies?

Why not? That was what I trained for. There isn’t any role I can’t play. If you ask me to play the role of a mother why not, I can play it. I’m good to go for that.

You appear to be certain of your skill. But does that make you a master of all? Do you see yourself learning from other artistes?

Wow! No one can really say he/she knows it all. We learn daily as we grow. What I will appreciate from other artistes is to put me through, support me and help me in achieving my goal. I’m someone that doesn’t give up. I focus on my career.

How many artistes do you know that can be of support to you?

I know many, but in the acting industry, to see who will help you is very rare but I believe that there is still someone outside there that is good and God sent that I know and believe will surely help.
I have worked with Mr. Adekola Odunlade once in a while, I know Odunlade very well, I believe in him and I know he is a kind man because the first time I worked with him I saw that he was very kind and accommodative. Iyabo Ojo also is very good and I believe in her also. She also like to help as she is a very nice person.

If these artistes you called help you, what will be your benefits and how likely are you to disappoint them?

I know I’m a God-fearing person, I stand on what I believe in, and in what I say. I don’t disappoint. If they call me, I will answer, I will respect them. I’m an obedient person but when I meet them, they will know the kind of person I am.
I can’t disappoint them because I’m ready to learn and grow. I had some challenges then that was why I stepped aside for a while.
So, it’s not like I quit my dream. I have been in the industry for 15 years now and I believe I will still achieve something in the future. So, I can’t quit my dream. This is my dream we are talking about. I believe I will make it and I will be there.

Now that you are becoming famous what are your concerns for the people that supported you?

I don’t know what to say. All I have to say is that I’m grateful, and I will not disappoint you. I’m a fair person, I will always be loyal to the people that support me and I will respect and pray for them also.

Do you have kids?

Yes, two daughters

Are you with your husband?

Yes, I’m with my husband. He supports me.
Like I said earlier I had some family challenges then about my career but I am telling you know I’m back with 100 percent support from my Husband, my family, my daughter’s and my in-laws

What are the challenges artistes have or face like slandering one another on the social media, what do you think about it?

Honestly, I don’t think it is good, I feel that if you have any issue with someone, you should call the person, discuss the issues with the person. We don’t need to create a scene on social media by abusing one another. I believe God will touch those people’s life and I just want to advise my elders that they should do something about it, because we will still have somebody that will still be our head, so we should try to talk to the person because the person will lead us through.
We are one. We don’t need to fight ourselves maybe because I’m rich and you are not rich or because I’m older than you.
