According to a survivor, the first bomber was carrying a baby on her back when she detonated the IED at a wedding venue in Tashan Mararaba, near the Fire Service in Gwoza town, on Saturday. The bomber, a young mother in her twenties, posed as a guest.
During the burial of the victims, a second bomber, disguised as a mourner, detonated another IED, killing one person.
The injured are being treated at Gwoza’s General Hospital. The military has declared an immediate curfew in Gwoza. Security agencies have not yet commented on the incident.
