In a bid to boost the Nigerian entertainment industry, Dream Empire Music has officially launched operations in Lagos, with the unveiling of three music acts, Lisa Viola, Ekeh Chiaka Joseph, a.k.a Majeeed (singer/songwriter), and Ifeanyichukwu Chigbo Kennedy, a.k.a Verchi.
Speaking at the launching, Verchi promised to bombard the music industry with classic tunes but meaningful lyrics.
According to the youngster, he is currently working on a couple of songs.
“We have a joint single titled, “Ogaju” with my label mates. But, personally, I have been on a project, “Afro diets” and two other songs too which will be put out anytime soon,” he said.
Continuing Verchi said, “My music is to inspire people because I sing about love, not heartbreak. I want people to understand love and appreciate love. Also, my focus is to attract investors especially the government to invest in the music industry and entertainment industry,” he said.
Commending the management, Majeeed said the vision of the record label is aligned with his vision as a singer.
“I feel Dream Empire aligns with my vision as a versatile artiste and we are ready to make magic. Am not going to hold back or have second thoughts or negative energy or negative vibe. I just want to do my thing.
“I don’t have a specific genre of music. I like to explore. So I would say am a versatile artist. I pick up very fast and I don’t limit myself and I feel the label understand the vision. They understand where I want to take my career to. That’s why I put pen on paper with them.”
For Lisa Viola her new single entitled, ‘Lagos’ featuring Majeed will be heating the airwaves by next week.
“My new single drops next week “Lagos” with Majeed,” the half-cast Afrobeat singer said.
“It’s funny when I first got here, I was inspired, and my energy was like a new energy for everyone so for the first three weeks, we were like this creative bubble and we just had people coming in, and we kept writing and experimenting with different sounds and how I would fit into all of these sounds. I don’t sound African but that’s the thing, there are a lot of people like me in the world so I feel like I want to represent that in my music, just be you.
“I’m like I love Afro beats, I feel so connected to music here. So am just working with a lot of new sounds that are so cool with hot producers. So we are just experimenting and trying to find that sound that can work for me. Because I want those little boys and girls out there to know that they can be themselves.”
