Heartland FC head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu has terminated his contract with the Naze Millionaires and will pursue his most reported transfer to Plateau United.
A source close to Ilechukwu told SportingLife that he went to meet with Heartland FC General Manager, Promise Nwachukwu yesterday and he submitted his letter notifying the club he was quitting his position as the head coach of Heartland FC despite still having a year left to run out his contract.
The source stated that Ilechukwu is being owed over 11 million naira by Heartland FC and that the coach asked the club he was ending his relationship with them to enable him move on with his coaching career.
According to the source, “I can authoritatively inform the media space that Camara has finally left the club on the personal ground to seek a new challenge.
“Despite tough conditions and financial challenges at the club and backlog of wages, the ‘Working One’ never got wearied yet delivered the Owerri-based club from been relegated at the just concluded 2020/2021 NPFL season finishing 13th in the log and got to the quarter-final of the Aiteo Cup.
“It’s an emotional one and tough decision for him, as he had a special bond with his assistants, players, and indeed fans of the club.”
The source further stated that Ilechukwu would soon be on his way to Jos for his unveiling ceremony
