Innovation has been identified as a vital tool for making progress in any facet of human endeavour as it is the effective way of tackling challenges.
Speaking in Lagos while flagging off the 2024 Excellence in Leadership Conference (ELC), Founder, Daystar Christian Centre, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, said innovation is central progress.
The conference had: “The Innovative Leader,” as theme.
“Innovation is the heartbeat of progress, and without fresh solutions, we cannot effectively address the challenges we face as the world is constantly evolving,” he said, urging leaders to embrace creativity and forge new paths that will drive growth, meaningful change and good life for all.
A major focal point this year is the use of innovation as a tool for progress. He challenged leaders to see challenges as avenues for creating value. “Our challenges offer an opportunity to build solutions, and innovation allows us to maximize our resources,” he said and outlined nine practical steps for fostering innovation in organisations, including embracing diversity, celebrating ideas, and recognising the value of structured leadership.
Adeyemi also underscored the importance of love in leadership, reminding attendees that “the measure of love is how we treat people in our society and how we show respect for each other.”
Co-convener and speaker Nike Adeyemi echoed same message, urging leaders to serve as “healers” and “light bearers,” using compassion and empathy as a guiding forces as the country face challenges.
