International Women’s Day Group Advocates Equity, Fairness In Politics

Nigeria women today joined the rest of the globe to celebrate the international women’s day.

It is a day set aside by the United Nation to reawakening the women on their right and challenge the womenfolk to stand up in business, politics and governance.

Speaking on Tuesday at the commemoration of the International Women’s Day-: #BreakBias# the convener Hon. Fateema Muhammed Ogunkola said woman are facing lots of challenges at home front, martialchallenges, personal issues and at work place.

She said woman needs to speak up and be given equally opportunity when it comes to political space.

Ogunkola who lamented the wide disparity in the numbers of women against their male counterparts at the national and states House of Assemblies noted that Woman should be given specific space in government

In ther remarks the central coordinator of Lagos, for Lagos group Lady Funke ljaiye-Kunle and the Cultural ambassador to the imperial majesty Oloye Morounranti Ashabi Asoju asa Ile odua (Onirisa) said women should be given equal rights to compete for any position in the country as they echoed that women voices need to be heard.
