Can we meet you sir and your parish?

With the Christmas Carol being organized by your parish, what does Christmas mean to you?
Christmas is just a time to celebrate Jesus and it is mostly a season where we share, we give to one another. It is all to celebrate the reason why Jesus came to the world, as a gift from his father to the universe for salvation. This time around, we are also emulating what happened by sharing among ourselves as a celebration for Jesus Christ. It is a season of love for sharing and giving.
The children are happy with their involvement, how were you able to get them fully involved?
For this moment we prefer the children to sing carols, Bible quizzes, all for the point of putting them in line with Christ, knowing more about Christ, knowing more about the reason why we celebrate Jesus Christ, not just for the fun of it but also putting them in the line of knowing who Christ is. We involve them in so many activities just like you said Bible quiz, carol singing, and drama, everything that links to the birth of Jesus Christ.
How are the parents been supportive of this Christmas Carol?
The parents have been very wonderful. Gifts came from all the parents in the church with their capacity and they did more than we expected. The gifts were brought together and shared among the children and even among the parents just so we know that the season we are is for sharing. Bring what you have and I will bring what I have, we bring it together then we share it amongst ourselves to show the love of Christ among us.
How do the other parishes use to celebrate Christmas? Is it differently done from the way your parish does its own and what’s the timeframe to Imeko?
Actually, most parishes do the same thing and this is always a programme that leads to Imeko as you said. Getting to Imeko for the convocation is a one-week service to also reckon with Christ. It is also always done where everybody will gather together and pray together as one celestial church where we mix together. On the last night, we will pray in worship. I think that is what we mostly do in Imeko.
In the advent of the COVID-19 fourth wave, do you think Imeko will be affected and how do you intend to protect the children?
The protocol has been kept for a long time and I believe that in Imeko, we will adhere to all safety protocols, that is, wearing of face mask. For a large gathering like that, I would support it if the protocol is put in place.
