- Says Christ is coming to rapture the church and the people
The founder and General superintendent Of Deeper Christian Life Ministry Pastor W.F Kumuyi has emphasized on the need for giving out to the needy in the environment for the edification of the church.
Pastor kumuyi in his sermon reiterated The need for churches to spend on the needy the same way they are spending money on church buildings. In His words pastor kumuyi said
“All the offerings is not just for church, there are poor people around, there are unemployed people around, there are indigent people around but we must build our campground DLICC, I understand we must build and we are going to build. But when you are building your neighbors are dying.Your neighbors who do not have anything to feed themselves and your fellow brother, fellow sister has nothing to send their children to school.”
”Look at all this offering we are collecting, I learned of a preacher somewhere they were having their church summit and he said now we are going to collect the offering, Of you have Ten thousand naira raise up your hand, Twenty thousand raise your hand, fifty thousand raise your hand and they were faithful and they raise their hand. And he stood up and said that ten thousand, that twenty thousand, that fifty thousand, go and give to the poor in your community”.
Speaking further, he said “We will build the Deeper Life International Conference Centre (DLICC), But we’ll not throw our hands off the air. All the offerings we can give we have given to the DLICC building, and we can now be at ease and allow our members to die of hunger and to be so despair because they have nothing and we have the money. The churches we are building, we are not building it for people, and the people we are building it for, are dying of hunger, malnutrition, and starvation. Let’s budget it part of the money millions of our currency to take of our people.”
He emphasised that the church should give priority to members of our church and even those who are not our members and we know them and we can contact them. Silver and Gold, now we have silver and gold. Sometimes when I travel around, The governors and some people do say pastor. We know you give everything to the church but we are giving you this directly, so I cannot say silver and gold I have none but rather I have some and am not going to give everything to the building of DLICC.
Kumuyi concluded that he’s looking for those who are hungry, those who are dying, those who are impoverished in their lives and some of the money will go to them. If you know them, tell your coordinator, tell your group pastor. Tell the people so that we will not be guilty of giving all the money that will not be raptured when Christ comes. Christ is coming to rapture the church and to rapture the people, Take care of the people, he added.
