Lagos, Nigeria – A Senior Leader in CCC Archdiocese in Agidingbi, Samuel Ayola Oyewo, highlighted the significance of the special night program, “Tabitha Nights,” in a recent address. Oyewo emphasized the transformative power of receiving a “new name” through God’s grace, referencing Isaiah 62:2 and 62:4. He likened the process to a rebirth, where those once rejected will be acknowledged and blessed by God, symbolized by the names Beulah or Hephzibah.
Oyewo stressed that genuine transformation requires humility and a turn from wickedness, citing 2 Chronicles 7:14. He underscored that calling upon God is insufficient without truly knowing and being known by Him. Superficial faith, he warned, is inadequate for real change; instead, sincere devotion and humility before God are essential.
Criticizing the current political focus on distributing funds from Abuja, Oyewo argued that productivity and addressing hunger should be prioritized. He described the reliance on food imports as a national disgrace and called for a return to self-sufficiency.
Addressing the youth, Oyewo urged a revival, emphasizing the importance of understanding their purpose in the church and actively engaging in its activities. He advocated for practical involvement to foster a sense of responsibility and belonging.
Furthermore, Oyewo highlighted the importance of following righteous examples within the church. He cautioned against blindly following leaders without discerning their true adherence to faith. He encouraged using prayer to support and guide others toward a transformative new name in the faith.
In conclusion, Oyewo called for a collective effort to embrace genuine transformation, urging the faithful to seek a deeper, more meaningful relationship with God and to work towards self-sufficiency and active participation in the church community.
