The Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church Ayo Ni O Surulere District at the weekend celebrated the 50th anniversary of its choir – Seraph Voices.
The event, which was a re- union for members of the five decade – old singing group converged for a spectacular performance of scores of soul moving albums released since its existence
While latching on the musical concert as a get together to use the music ministry through messages to contribute to societal re- modelling , the choir said it has contributed significantly to the growth of the gospel musical industry .
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the 50th anniversary Planning Committee, Gbadejo Olusola said the choir has played a significant role in social crusading by providing a moral direction for the country in times of national difficulties through soul lifting renditions.
Olusola said the C&S Choir has groomed many generation of singers, who continue to use gospel music as a platform to actualize God’s redemptive mission for mankind.
Also speaking, the Choir Master General, Prophet Johnson Adeniyi Adeyemi , said the group continue to carry out evangelism to the world using the platform of gospel music to engineer moral rebirth and push for hope in a world where mankid is continuously grappling with economic , politrical and many social cfhallenges.
Songs churned out by the C&S Choir, he said are still relevant in addressing social decadence and other vices in a world urgently in need for naqtional and moral direction.
He said : ‘ Though our songs have made huge impact in the society, we are constantly battling stiff competion from secular artistes,. The society today suffers from love for illicit wealth . But, as a church choir , we will continue to play our role as the conscience of the nation through our music, melody and messages.
In his remarks, Chairman of the Surulere District and General Leader of the church, Senior Special Apostle Prophet Sunday Funsho Korode commended the choir as its former leader for propagating the gospel through production of evergreen songs , which have become popular in the world.
