Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, known as Sunday Igboho, has issued a fresh quit notice to Fulani herders to vacate all forests in the South-west. This move follows alleged killings, abductions, and farmland destruction by the herders.
In a voice note released by his media aide, Olayemi Koiki, and forwarded to PREMIUM TIMES, Igboho praised the efforts of South-west governors and traditional rulers but emphasized that food security can only be achieved in a peaceful atmosphere for farmers.
“All Fulani herders in our forests must leave now. These forests belong to us, and we need to protect our people and their farmlands,” he stated.
Igboho also mentioned that he awaits further directives from monarchs in Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti, and Osun states. He expressed concern over the impact of herders on farming, with recent attacks leading to deaths and curfews in some communities.
“These crimes must stop. Our governors must enhance security to ensure our farmers can work without fear of attacks,” he added.
