Super Falcons’ Kanu relishes WAFCON debut

Super Falcons forward Uchenna Kanu is hoping for a siuccessful campaign with NIgeria at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Kanu is one of the debutants in Nigeria’s 25-player squad for the tournament holding in Morocco.
Nigeria is drawn in Group C along with South Africa, Burundi and Botswana, which Kanu herself believes could see the holders emerge from into the knockout phase.
“It feels exciting because it is my first time and I’m expecting nothing but a good performance from myself and the entire team through out the tournament,” the striker said.
Kanu represented Nigeria at the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and that same year, she also featured in the U-20 Women’s World Cup.
THe 26-year-old, who plays for Mexican Liga MX Femenil club Tigres UANL, made her international debut on 8 April, 2019 in a 1-2 friendly loss to Canada.
